Costa Rica
We spent Labor Day weekend 2004 in beautiful Costa Rica. Below is a photo of Arenal volcano, which erupts every few minutes. Note that one side of the volcano is green and thriving, while the other side shows the effects of the constant eruptions.
The Rain Forest
Near the volcano were natural hot springs nestled within a lovely rain forest.

The Pizotes
Everywhere we went, we saw these cute animals called "pizotes". They came running whenever we drove by, hoping to get some crackers.  
The Iguanas
We stopped at a restaurant and saw these iguanas, who lounged around both outside and inside.
The Butterfly Farm
We visited a butterfly farm and saw a variety of interesting butterflies.   
This is a new butterfly just beginning to emerge.

Back at the hotel...
We spent one day at the beach, and another relaxing at our hotel. Here we are lounging by the pool.
